Adam Cooke - New Resident Conductor
Stavanger Brass Band is very pleased to announce that Adam Cooke will become the band's new resident conductor. The band has the last two years been actively seeking for a resident conductor to be based in Stavanger. The last one and a half year Adam Cooke has functioned in the role, travelling in from London for weekly rehearsals.
“We are very happy that the next natural step in Adam and his partner’s careers is to move to Stavanger, which allow us to formally offer Adam the position as Stavanger Brass Band's resident conductor. Having accepted the offer, Adam will now be a full part of the successful team working alongside the bands musical director Allan Withington and the band's organisation to develop the band further. Adam has already played an important part in Stavanger band's latest achievement, being third in this year's European Brass Band Championships, and we are looking forward to see him dedicating his expertise and experience even more into the band's development, says Ulf Rosenberg, Chairman of the Board in Stavanger Brass Band.”
Adam says:
“I’ve enjoyed working with Stavanger Brass Band and Allan Withington over the past year. The band is at the forefront of innovation and performance in brass banding, so to be able to commit more fully to being part of the team is an exciting prospect.”
We are looking forward to work with Adam and Allan in the upcoming preparations for Siddis Brass entertainment contest in November and the Norwegian national championships in February next year.
